Junkyard Orchestra

Time: 1pm | Ages 4-12 | Price: $12 | Location: Kids Studio

The Junkyard Beats workshop experience invites children to band together to create their own Junkyard Orchestra. Children will be taken on a creative journey of discovery, exploring the connection between creative recycling, music and teamwork. One person’s trash proves another’s treasure as our highly energetic music-in-education performers combine drumming, dance, theatre and comedy to create a unique and captivating experience. With a focus on sustainability, boost your child’s thinking and environmental awareness while igniting their creativity as they devise music, help the environment and channel energy in a fun, unique, and collaborative way.

Bubs + Music

Introduce your children to the wonderful world of music, this workshop is designed to encourage the very young to the playful world of music making, dancing and singing.

Art of Surprise

Time: 10am, 11:15am, 12:15pm, 1:30pm, 3pm |
Age: 4-12 years old | Duration: 45 mins | Price: FREE |

Radha’s Kitchen: What is your story? Do you like to cook? What is your favourite food? What does it taste like? Do you know where the recipe is from and who cooks it for you? Come learn a trick or two about cooking spiced with some of Radha’s stories here at Radha’s Kitchen.

Dennis Golding: Dennis Golding will present a workshop experience that will provide an opportunity for participants to explore ideas of identity and culture by producing a symbol that resonates to an urban experience and/or childhood memory onto a satin mini-cape.

Colour Connect Create

Time: 10am-4pm | Age: 2 - 5 years old | Price: FREE |

Featuring 4 connected zones of creative encounters! Slotting, folding, colouring, animation, masks, 3D shapes… and much much more. 

Fence Weaving

Time: 10am-3pm | Age: 4+ | Price: FREE |
Location: Outdoors | Garden

Extend the design of CPAC’s garden in this fence weaving workshop. Using colourful fabrics you will work alongside a facilitator to weave and create a beautiful design.

Edible Country

Time: 10am - 10:45am - 11:30am - 1pm - 1:45pm - 2:30pm -  3:30pm | Age: 5+ | Price: FREE |
Location: Outdoors | Garden

A potted history of Liverpool created by young people.

The young artists from Miller Technology High invite WOW participants to help create a potted history of Liverpool.

The history of the river, as a Darug and Tharawal meeting place to Liverpool's urban history of rapid change will be illustrated - piece by piece - using clay tiles, engraving, printing and painting - all pieces of a mosaic for a giant GARDEN POT to be given to the Bellbird Garden as a gift!

Edible Country will run for two days across the WOW Festival as an interactive art stall located beside the river.

Participants come away with one work for home and one work which will be incorporated in this permanent artwork, on display at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre for future generations!

Printing Plants

Time: 11am and 1:30pm | Age: 4+ | Price: FREE |
Location: Outdoors | Garden

Lead by Diego Bonetto, participants will gather several available species during an informative walking tour, that will then be processed and printed using a combination of ink and natural sap.

Bush Tucker

Time: 11am | Age: 4+ | Price: FREE |
Location: Outdoors |Ampitheatre

Terry Lennis is a Darug, Darawahl man of the land and river. He is a respected horticulturalist and has been leading bush tucker programs across Sydney.

 

At the WOW Festival, he will share his knowledge and passion for native plants through a talk and workshop. Terry will guide a hands-on workshop about planting, how to use the plants and why.

Worm Farming

Time: 11am and 2pm | Age: 4+ | Price: FREE |
Location: Outdoors |Garden

They’re icky and squirmy, but kids always love ‘em! Join our Worm Expert Karl and CPAC Gardener Lauren for some hands on worm-wrangling and a fascinating insight into compost worms! Learn how you can keep these amazing critters at home and use the fertile worm casting and worm tea for your garden.
