WELCOME TO THE VERY FIRST WOW TOY SWAP!

Do your kids have toy boxes full of toys that they no longer play with? Could your toy boxes and homes do with a good clean out of toys?

This event asks children to bring in toys they no longer want or play with and swap them for another one. The aim of the toy swap is not monetary value a toy may have, but rather helping children and adults be environmentally responsible and to reduce waste. How cool is that!?

THE TOY SWAP IS FOR ANYONE AGED BEWTWEEN 0 to 10 years.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING:

Any type of toy: indoor or outdoor.

Kids DVD's (PG Titles only).

WHAT NOT TO BRING:

Dirty, damaged or broken toys.

All toys should be in good enough condition that other kids will actually want them and be able to be used! Every toy should get a good cleaning before coming to the swap. (Please, if possible, use non-toxic soaps and cleaners).

HOW WILL IT WORK?

There will be a sign in/registration desk where toys will be assessed and tokens allocated.

All items will be sorted into age and type categories.

Once you arrive at the WOW Toy Swap event you will give organisers the toys you have brought with you, in exchange you will be given tokens for each item/toy you bring. Eg; if you bring three items - you will get three tokens.

You then use your tokens to exchange for the items you want.

HOW WILL VALUE BE ASSIGNED TO EACH ITEM?
Toys brought for swap are not assigned a monetary value, they will be categorised according to age and type eg: Babies 0-18months, Toddlers 2-3, Child 4-6, 7-10, Outdoors, DVD’s
What one person thinks is worth $5 another person may think is worth $50, therefore it is impossible for us to categorise according to monetary value.
The Toy Swap is more about the intrinsic value of the items, it’s about kids searching through the range of toys to find a treasure that’s just right for them.

DISPUTES
Ideally, there won’t be any! If there are two or more people who want the same item and cannot agree, a coin flip by festival staff will assist in resolving who gets the item.

LEFTOVERS
All remaining items will go to Anglicare Warehouse in Villawood. No council or festival staff will get to pick over leftovers.

DO ADULTS HAVE TO ACCOMPANY THE CHILD?
Yes. Adults are to accompany the child when they are swapping.

DISPOSING OF ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED
Liverpool City Council are not responsible for the disposal of items not accepted.

CAN ITEMS BE BROUGHT IN BEFORE THE EVENT?
